Admissions

All pupils who come to Middleton have an Education Health Care Plan. It is a requirement that a pupil has a plan before admission to Middleton can be considered however parents and carers of children whose plans are in process are also welcome to come and view the school.

A move into a special provision usually comes about as a result of a review of  EHCP.  At this review the school and / or parents and carers may feel that a special school placement may be more suitable for their child’s needs. If a change of placement is thought to be the right course of action then the paperwork is sent to the County Council SEN team. The paperwork is considered by a ‘Panel’ of professionals working within SEN and they make the decision to look for a place in a special school for a child or not. The school is not in the position of being able to offer places to any child outside this process.

Visits are welcomed and we have regular tours so that prospective parents and carers can gain an overview of the school and have the opportunity to ask any questions about the school and the admissions process.  Please contact the school office to arrange a visit.
